How it reads
The conversation, not the screen
Extry asks DeepSeek for the conversation the same way the page does, with the session you already have in this browser. It gets the chat as DeepSeek stores it, rather than whatever part of it is drawn on the screen.
A DeepSeek chat is a tree: an edited question or a regenerated answer leaves the earlier attempt behind. The export follows the path you are looking at, so abandoned tries are not spliced into the transcript.

Reasoning
The reasoning behind an answer is written as its own block before it. One switch in the export settings keeps it or leaves it out.
Search and sources
When an answer searched the web, the queries are kept, and the reference markers become numbered sources with their links under the message.
Model
Each answer is labelled with the model you picked above the message box, such as Instant or Expert.
Attachments
Files you uploaded are downloaded into a files/ folder beside the transcript, and the transcript links to them. DeepSeek makes no pictures of its own, so that is all the gallery holds.
How it works
How to export a DeepSeek chat
- Open the conversation on chat.deepseek.com and click the Extry button on the page.
- Pick one format or several in the panel.
- Press Download this chat. One format arrives as a file; several, or attachments beside the text, arrive as one .zip.
A shared link works the same way: open a chat someone shared with you and export it.
Every chat
All your chats, and the archive DeepSeek mails you
Open All chats in the panel, tick the conversations you need, and they come out as one archive with an index page. DeepSeek’s own list stops at the newest hundred; past that, Extry reads the list from the sidebar on the page.
DeepSeek can also send you an export of all your data. Open that archive from the gear menu and save any conversation out of it in the same formats. The archive holds the text only: attachments are named in it, and their contents stay in the live chat.

About exporting from DeepSeek
Do I need a DeepSeek API key?
No. Extry uses the session you already have in this browser. Sign in at chat.deepseek.com, and nothing else is needed.
Are the formats the same as for ChatGPT?
Yes. All nine are there: Markdown, HTML, Word, plain text, JSON, CSV, Excel, LaTeX, and a PNG image of the whole chat.
Does it export the branches I moved away from?
No. The export follows the path of the conversation you are looking at. Earlier attempts at a question or an answer stay out of the file.
Is the conversation sent anywhere?
No. The request goes from your browser to DeepSeek, as it does when the page loads the chat, and the files are built on your machine.
